A Note to our U.S. Community regarding 2025 Import Changes
U.S. TARIFFS
At DLCT Contemporary, we are committed to transparency and the highest standards of client service.
As of late 2025, the US Government has suspended the $800 'De Minimis' tax exemption for international shipments.
Because our signature pieces are crafted in our partner Accra, European & Chinese facilities and shipped via our Accra fulfillment, some pieces are now subject to both baseline apparel tariffs and Section 301 trade regulations.
Additionally, with the expiration of AGOA, all apparel entering the US from Ghana now incurs a mandatory tariff + carrier brokerage fee.
What this means for you:
- Mandatory Tariffs: These are collected by the US Government, not DLCT Contemporary. We cannot predict them.
- DHL Fees: DHL charges a disbursement fee to process these new daily customs entries.
- Transparent Shipping: We are working on a local North American fulfillment solution to eliminate these fees for you in 2026. Until then, please be prepared for these government-mandated charges upon delivery.
How we can help you:
- Alternate Shipping Address: You can provide us an alternate shipping address outside of the U.S. to be collected at a later date in order to save on these additional fees. E.g. Ship from Accra to Nigeria or the UK.
